Founder's Letter
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and Advisory Council Members, I would like to thank you for your interest in the Central California School of Pharmacy (CCSP).  As we have witnessed in the past few months, the world is growing more complex; our region is not immune.  A recent study entitled, “The Measure of America,” ranks the San Joaquin Valley 436th out of 436 districts nationwide—worse than Appalachia in the areas of health, education and income (2008)!  These findings are an unfortunate affidavit that our region has always been underserved.  As a result we are searching for new ways of resolving the problems inherent to our Valley.  A long-term Fresno native, I am not just concerned, but committed to finding a solution that will benefit the future of the San Joaquin Valley
CCSP is not just a great concept but also a viable contribution to the long-term solution to our region’s problems.  It is my strong belief that the retention of highly educated and skilled workers in the Valley will positively impact the socioeconomics of the region, will increase opportunities to expand pharmacy services, and will positively influence local healthcare infrastructure.  CCSP is dedicated to retaining local talent in the market place.  I am excited by the enthusiastic interest among multiple agencies about partnering with CCSP to create a new paradigm for the Central Valley.  CCSP will educate a generation that will be capable of developing innovative solutions and will gain the expertise necessary to become tomorrow’s leaders in an industry that has a 10-year growth projection of 25%.  As we graduate our inaugural class of pharmacists, a corps of inquisitive, boldly imaginative and well-trained scholars will emerge and our Valley will reap the rewards.
For our progress to-date, I would like to express my gratitude to the CCSP leadership, whose distinguished members have brought to the table a keen sense of experience and history and have helped to transform the school into a reality.  As the scope of this project grows, I would welcome your comments and your continued support.
Please accept my invitation to learn more about CCSP by taking the time to navigate through our website for information related to academics, fundraising and upcoming events.  If you require additional information, please contact our office at (559) 476.2940.

Sincerely,
Michael W. Lynch, MD, President
