CCSP is not just a great concept but also a viable contribution to the long-term solution to our region’s problems. Highly educated and skilled workers in the Valley will positively impact the socioeconomics of the region, will increase opportunities to expand pharmacy services, and will positively influence local healthcare infrastructure. CCSP is dedicated to retaining local talent in the market place. We are excited by the enthusiastic interest among multiple agencies about partnering with CCSP to create a new paradigm for the Central Valley. CCSP will educate a generation capable of developing innovative solutions and gaining the expertise necessary to become tomorrow’s leaders in an industry that has a 10-year growth projection of 25%. CCSP is strongly committed to educating students fully reflecting the demographics of the region. It is our strong belief that the varied backgrounds of students, faculty and staff enrich the intellectual and professional life of the campus and its community. CCSP is committed to advancing the idea that patients will be attracted to pharmacists that reflect the diverse needs of the communities served. Patients, like CCSP, understand that they will benefit from the call for greater diversity in medical professions by being afforded the opportunity to work with someone from their community who will have a greater awareness of his/her special needs. CCSP is eager to grow this initiative and is committed to building a strong workforce dedicated to meeting the health care needs of the population and engaging in creative approaches that promise to yield new insights on integrated health care services. It is the stated goal of the CCSP for promoting greater diversity in the pharmacy profession in an effort to implement a proactive approach toward pharmacy education. CCSP has the potential to create a unique identity for its pharmaceutical program and to promote abilities in its pharmacy students that would complement societal expectations for diversity in pharmaceutical educations, and foster the ability of its students to fulfill their professional roles and responsibilities as pharmacists to understand, communicate with, and care for patients from diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. STATUSThe Central California School of Pharmacy was established in Fresno in January of 2007 as a 50l (c)(3) non-profit corporation. CCSP is a nonprofit school offering a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. CCSP is a development stage, non-profit organization headquartered in Fresno, California, CCSP is positioning itself as an industry leader in academics, pharmacology research, and human compassion. The decision to open CCSP is in direct response to the extreme need for qualified pharmacists both locally and globally. YOUR SUPPORT IS CRITICAL
The Pharmacy School will generate research, jobs, and play a significant role in improving quality of life in the region. The high unemployment rate, the bi-polarity of jobs, the rise in immigrants, and the absence of significant higher educational institutions all act as catalysts for preventing students from pursuing advanced professional degrees. Although these factors are expressive of the background of some of the types of students who will attend the CCSP, administrators at CCSP are committed to demonstrating success in encouraging students from this population to pursue doctoral education. Furthermore, our commitment to diversity will help to raise the socioeconomic status of CCSP graduates and will equip them to serve as role models in their home communities. Your contribution will leverage the investment in pharmaceutical education made by the CCSP Board members and, at the same time, will be a breakthrough moment for the new CCSP campus. |
